Ankita Lokhande joins Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika army as Jhalkaribai
TV actress Ankita Lokhande has been away from the limelight after her serial Pavitra Rishta got over. However, news is that she is all set to make a heroic entry into Bollywood. The actress is playing a pivotal role in Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Ankita would be playing the role of Jhalkaribai who was said to be the right hand of Rani Laxmibai and was also a apart of her army. Ankita was very kicked about portraying the character, according to a leading daily, she was quoted as saying “I have never heard about her before, not many have, but Jhalkarbai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honoured that I will be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Laxmibai,” Ankita shared. Elaborating even more she said, “I’m indebted to Kamal sir for this challenging role in a big budget film scripted by the Bahubali Scriptwriter KN Vijayendra Prasad alongside a national award winning actress like Kangana who exudes power and is an inspiration to all women. I am looking forward to learning from her once we shoot starting in August.” Jhalkaribai was touted to be very similar in her looks to Laxmibai which si why she was induced in her army and went on to act as her body double to deceive the British during an attack. She later sacrificed her life for the queen. We all knew a naive Ankita playing the roles of obedient women on the TV screens but she will be seen in a whole new Avatar in the film. She will be fighting with swords, riding horses revealing a side of hers which is unseen. Ankita was in news earlier because of her romantic affinity with Sushant Singh Rajput, they were very together however, it has been a few months that they have called off their relationship.
