MUMBAI: Former Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli, apparently, has been booked by the Mumbai police for physically assaulting his girlfriend Neeru Randhawa. A complaint was launched last weekend against the actor at Mumbai’s Santacruz police station.
According to media reports, the couple had a verbal contention over financial issues relating to painting of the actor’s Goa Villa. In the heat of the moment, Armaan lost his cool and pushed Randhawa down a flight of stairs. Furthermore, grabbing her by the hair, he slammed her head against the floor.
Talking to a leading daily, Neeru stated that Armaan verbally abused her over a monetary issue. “Before I realised what was happening, he caught me by my hair and banged my head against the floor. I begged him to allow me to go to the hospital, promising that I wouldn’t approach the police. The wound was so deep that I had to undergo a surgery. The doctor told me that the scar would be visible even after the surgery, as the assault has damaged my skin tissues. Armaan has been sending me text messages since Sunday, asking me to come back home and he is even promising to marry me right away, but I have had enough,” said Neeru in a media statement.
Neeru has suffered several head injuries and has been hospitalised in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. An FIR under Section 326 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Armaan. However, he has been mysteriously absent since the incident.
Apparently, this is not the first time that Armaan has physically abused her. As per Neeru’s media statement, Kohli has assaulted her in February this year and nearly broke her nose.
The couple were in a live-in relationship for the last three years.
