MUMBAI : Akshaye Khanna started his career with the 1997 release Himalay Putra, and in the same year, he had another two releases, Border, and Mohabbat. Later, he was featured in many romantic films, and audiences loved him in the guy-next-door roles. Things took a turn with Hungama where he made everyone laugh out loud with his amazing comic timing, and then he mainly starred in comedy films.
After 2012, he took a break of four years and made a comeback as the antagonist with Dishoom. Now, he has been mainly playing serious roles, and well, he has impressed one and all with them. MOM, Ittefaq, Section 377, and now Drishyam 2, Akshaye is nailing it in serious roles in the second phase of his career. In 2020, he did a movie titled Sab Kushal Mangal, which was a comedy film, and was a disaster at the box office.
We asked a few people about their views on whether Akshaye should continue doing serious roles, and here’s what they have to say…
Shikha: Akshaye is a terrific actor and yes he should continue doing serious roles. He was simply amazing in Drishyam 2.
Praniti: Akshaye Khanna is a good actor, and he can do any role easily. But, she should not stick to serious roles as I also love him in comedy movies like Hungama, Hulchul, and others.
Ajay: I am yet to see Drishyam 2, but he was fantastic in MOM, Ittefaq, and Section 377. He should do more serious roles, but maybe once in 2-3 years, he should do a comedy film as well.
Aishwarya: Akshaye Khanna is a brilliant actor, and he is very good in Drishyam 2. He can do any genre of film and give his best.
Zaid: No, not just serious roles, Akshaye Khanna is known for his amazing comedy, so he should do more comedy films. We have seen enough of him doing serious roles.
Well, the conclusion of the audience’s point of view can be that Akshaye should do serious roles, but also do comedy films. So, let’s see what the actor does next.
