MUMBAI: Another shocking and upsetting news came in amidst the second wave of Coronavirus. Reportedly, actor Lalit Behl who has done some notable films like Titli and Mukti Bhawan passed away at the age of 71 due to COVID-19 related complications. 

Lalit was the father of Titli director Kanu Behl who kept everyone updated about his father’s health on Twitter. However, much to everyone’s dismay, Lalit breathed his last on Friday. Kanu even revealed his father had a history of heart ailments and had COVID which complicated his health further.   

Lalit Behl's son Kanu confirmed the news and said, “He passed away in the afternoon. He had a history of heart ailments and had COVID, so it got complicated. He had an infection in his lungs which got severe and that, with the previous medical history he had, complicated his health further.”. 

After learning about the sad news, stars like Sayani Gupta, Ranvir Shorey, Adil Hussain mourned his death and penned heartfelt tribute for the late actor. Sayani wrote, “This is just horrid. So sorry @KanuBehl We lost two incredible artists today! Lalit Behl and Amit Mistry. This just keeps getting worse”.

Adil also expressed his grief by saying, “Extremely saddened by the demise of one of my dearest and most respected Co-actors, Lalit Behl jee. Who, so brilliantly played the father in  @MuktiBhawan ! I feel the loss of my father again! Dear Kanu I am so  very sorry for your loss!”.

While Shorey offered them condolence, “Shattered to read this. So many memories. He was warm and affectionate and wise. Learnt so much from him. Heartfelt condolences to the family,  @KanuBehl. Hug.”.

Other stars like music composer Shravan Rathod, Kishore Nandlaskar passed away due to COVID-19 related issues.
