MUMBAI: Varun Dhawan has a huge fan base and they were all waiting for the star's big move which he finally made with 'Baby John'. The movie is a Hindi remake of Theri, starring Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson. The movie features Mahendran as the villain. While the Hindi movie is a remake, it has some differences, a major one being that this time, Atlee has shifted from the seat if Director to that of a producer.

Announcement of Baby John was received quite well by the audience and it seemed like everyone was waiting for its official release but the makerswere not done teasing the audience before the big day. We got some amazing music like 'Pikley Pom' showing the true and cute bond between a father and a daughter, 'Nain Matakka' a massy love song showing a hot chemistry between Keerthy Suresh and Varun Dhawan who are dancing on the voice of Diljit Dosanjh and then 'Hazaar Baar' sung by the amazing Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. Thaman S' music is surely stuck in everyone's mind by now.
The movie finally released on 25th December with an opening collection of around Rs 11.25 Cr which was amazing.
On day 5, Baby John collected around Rs 4.75 Cr. While the movie collected around Rs 28.94 Cr India net, it collected around Rs 36.7 Cr globally.
Baby John is directed by Kalees and stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi. The movie features Jackie Shroff aa the villain and really makes his mark with his performance.
