MUMBAI: Pawan Singh is a popular Indian playback singer, actor, and music composer, often called the "Power Star," known predominantly for his work in the Bhojpuri film industry since the late 1990s.
His widespread fame grew significantly with the iconic Bhojpuri song "Lollipop Lagelu" (2008).
He was a contestant on the reality show 'Rise and Fall', hosted by Ashneer Grover, but he walked out mid-way through his stint.
His participation, though short-lived, was noted, and he was even dubbed the "TRP King" by some fans.
Bhojpuri cinema star and Member of Parliament Pawan Singh has found himself at the centre of an alarming security crisis after receiving a barrage of threatening calls from unidentified individuals claiming allegiance to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The callers, whose multiple mobile numbers have been traced from the state of Bihar to Mumbai, allegedly made demands for money and issued a stern warning against him appearing on stage with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

According to reports, Singh has now lodged two formal complaints with the Mumbai Police, following consecutive threats of extortion which referenced the Bishnoi gang.
Both complaints have swiftly been forwarded to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch, which has promptly commenced a full-scale investigation into the origins of the harassing calls.
Sources indicate that one of the threats was highly specific, explicitly warning Pawan Singh against sharing the stage with Salman Khan and cautioning that there would be “serious consequences” should he proceed with the event. Further alarming messages were reportedly received on the mobile telephones of several members of Pawan’s professional team, suggesting a highly coordinated effort to intimidate the actor-politician.
With the case now officially under investigation, Pawan Singh and members of his management team are expected to appear before Crime Branch officers to provide detailed statements and submit supplementary evidence.
Officials are currently checking phone records and tracing the digital footprint of the callers as a core part of their probe.
This unsettling episode arrives only weeks after Singh faced public controversy involving his second wife, Jyoti Singh.
In October, Jyoti posted a highly emotional video claiming she had been denied entry to Pawan’s Lucknow residence, alleging that police had detained her outside and informed her about a First Information Report (FIR) filed against her.
The distressing video, where she broke down and suggested drastic action out of desperation, created a social media furore.
Pawan subsequently refuted her account, maintaining that he had respectfully invited her into the home and that the viral video did not reflect the entire context of the situation.
Even though the threats are becoming more serious and security is a major worry. Pawan Singh is continuing with all his work.
He bravely made his planned appearance as a guest on the Grand Finale of Bigg Boss 19 alongside host Salman Khan.
He is also scheduled to be on the new cooking show, Laughter Chefs Season 3.
He is showing a very strong, determined attitude, even while the police are making his security much tighter.
