Bollywood actress Shikha Joshi, who has worked in the critically acclaimed film B.A. Pass, recently, committed suicide at her residence in Versova.
A national daily reported on 16 May evening, the actress locked herself in the bathroom and cut her throat using a sharp knife. After some time, when her friend knocked the door, Shikha however opened it, but collapsed shortly due to excessive blood loss. She was immediately rushed to Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri, but was declared death upon reaching. The body was later on sent to Cooper hospital for post-mortem.
As per the reports police have registered a case of unnatural death, however any suicide note has not been found. Reports also suggest that the actress, who came to Mumbai from Delhi, was suffering from severe depression for not having any work, which resulted in her death.
Interestingly, in 2013 Police had arrested Shikha and her brother for throwing stones at a doctor’s clinic after he refused to admit them inside the clinic. Before her arrest in 2011 the actress reportedly filed a complaint against the doctor for molesting her.
