Bollywood unites to launch Dilip Kumar's autobiography

Dilip Kumar's autobiography
The who's who of Bollywood were in attendance at the launch of Dilip Kumar's autobiography titled 'Substance and Shawdow' yesterday night at a suburban five star. From yesteryear superstars to present era heartthrobs, Dilip Kumar's event was perhaps one of the biggest ever held in recent memory with almost 90% of the industry converging to congratulate and celebrate the life and times of the thespian. Those present included Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Jeetendra, Vaijayanti Mala, Zeenat Aman, Danny Denzongpa, Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Dharmendra, Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Raju Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Riteish Deshmukh, Kiran Rao and many others. Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu looked overwhelmed at seeing the participation of the film industry at her hubby's event. Saira told reporters, " Please pray that the dedication we have written the book with, it is received by the readers in the same way. Every chapter in the book is important and you all will read something that you have not read before about him." Aamir Khan who considers himself to be a big fan of the legend said, " We were all eagerly waiting for this big day. I am a huge fan of Yusuf sahab and I was waiting to read his book and his experiences." Among the few notable absentees included Lata Mangeshkar whose ill-health kept her away, Salman Khan who was busy shooting, Kapil Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan. Dilip Kumar's autobiography chronicles the legend's 91-year old life from his childhood days to present times. It throws light on his family, career, wife and more importantly his relationship with Madhubala. The experiences have been dictated by Dilip Kumar himself and the same has been written down by Udaya Tara Nayar, who is a close family friend of the legend's family.
