MUMBAI: In the Sushant demise case, the prime suspect Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB with her brother Showik and Bombay High Court on Tuesday (September 29) reserved the order on the bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput's house help Dipesh Sawant, actor's house manager Samuel Miranda and drug peddler Abul Basit Parihar. The sister-brother duo was arrested by the NCB in a drug case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The drugs law enforcement agency arrested Rhea on charges of procuring and financing the drugs for the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor.

Assistant Solicitor General (ASG) Anil Singh, who is representing NCB, opposed the bail pleas of Rhea, Showik and others. He said that people arrested under various sections of the NDPS Act are connected with each other.

"The present applicant (Rhea) is prominent member of supply chain of drugs and majorly she is handling finance also and used to manage, finance for drug procurement along with Sushant Singh Rajput," the NCB was quoted saying by IANS in it affidavit opposing Rhea Chakraborty's bail application.

Satish Maneshinde, who is representing Rhea and her brother, argued before the court that Sushant was the ‘only consumer’ of drugs during the time Rhea was with him.

In her bail plea filed through Maneshinde, Rhea argued that that the NCB had no jurisdiction to investigate this case as the Supreme Court had transferred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation. In reply, the NCB said that apex court has only directed the transfer of any probe related to Sushant's death to the CBI.

The NCB, which has intensified its probe into the alleged Bollywood drugs nexus, grilled four leading ladies of Bollywood- Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet last week. The actresses had denied consuming any narcotics substance during the NCB interrogation.
