British Airways honours Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan were special guests at the arrival ceremony of British Airways’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, in Hyderabad. The airline also honoured the legend for his incomparable contribution to Indian cinema. As a mark of honour, the brand new aircraft was adorned with a plaque commemorating and honouring Amitabh. Amitabh Bachchan was his usual modest self while receiving this honour and said, “I am delighted to be associated with the launch of British Airways’ 787 Dreamliner in India. London is one of my favourite destinations and there is no better way to travel to the city than with British Airways. The service, food and flat beds on the long haul flights are second to none and I always arrive feeling well rested. My family and I have been flying with British Airways for years. The airline holds a strong legacy in India and I hope they continue to serve us with the same zeal and fervour, forever.” Commenting on the occasion Christopher Fordyce- Regional Commercial Manager, British Airways, South Asia said “We are delighted to announce yet another milestone in British Airways’ history in Hyderabad. Our very first Dreamliner 787 has made its landing here yesterday morning and what better way to mark this momentous occasion than to honour the iconic Mr Bachchan to commemorate this successful launch.” Amitabh was also seen tweeting about the event later in the day.
