In most of his films starting from Adlabs’ Johny Gaddar, Neil Nitin Mukesh has been seen as a gangster. But, to bring in a change, the actor will be seen essaying the role of an IPS officer attached to the crime branch in Rash Production Pvt. Ltd’s Dussehra produced by Aparna Hoshing and directed by Manish Vatsalya.
Said an excited Neil about his cop avatar, “It’s an unique storyline and am thrilled to be a part of this film. Ever since I heard the story, I have ardently been researching life of bureaucrats so that I could give more depth to my character in the film. Manish and Aparna have put together a great project.”
Dusshera is a political thriller based on a true story of crime and politics. The film evolves from the backdrop of a politically destabilized state, places which symbolizes politician mafia network, a place of heinous crimes, cunning politicians and reckless criminals. The film recounts the story of a genuine cop who gets stuck in adverse circumstances.
Talking to Moviechakkar, Manish Vatsalya averred, “Neil Nitin Mukesh was my first choice for this role. I have been watching his films and the offbeat path that he has been treading. I felt he could bring the character of Rudra Pratap Singh live on screen. One will see Neil in a very different role in Dusshera.”
Starring opposite Neil in this cop drama will be Tena Desae who will play the role of a Sr. IPS officer.
