MUMBAI: Daler Mehndi's son Gurdip has released crowd-pleasing songs like Inipu, Waari, Nasha and Jaan lately. These songs are a proof that Gurdip's voice touches the hearts of millions. During an interview with TellyChakkar, the young singer was asked, if he had taken the help of his father- veteran Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi.
"Being a father he is always there and is still there. Being a son your first hero is your papa and bahut kuch seekhne aur samajne ko mila. He and I were clear that I would love to learn from him but I would not be comfortable sitting next to him or going with him. He was also not in the mind frame because kya hota hai na bada paidh jab rehta hai chotei pe nazar jaati hi nai hai. Aapko ek alag jagah pe paidh lagana padega toh nazar jaaye. Seekhe bahut kuch but saath mei jaana, chalna, ghoomna, phirna woh bahut kum kia, jiski ek achi wajah yeh banke aayi hai ki now people those who are watching; we have never seen him with him (Daler Mehndi) but he is doing something".
He further said, "Mere hisab se agar unka (Daler) ka 100 hai toh mera five percent bhi visible hai na toh mere hisab se woh 500 hai kyuki woh toh ek established badi hasti hai aur agar koi unki tulna mei etna bhi keh deh ki upto the mark hai toh mere liye toh woh 500 hoh gaya. For sure him and Mika chacha were there".
