Gulaab Gang, that features Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla has run into trouble just two days before its release.
The Delhi High Court has ruled that the film produced by Anubhav Sinha and directed by Soumik Sen should not be released anywhere in India in both its censored and uncensored forms till 8 May.
The Court order followed after activist Sampat Pal, the leader of the real-life Gulabi Gang (a group of pink sari clad women vigilantes from Uttar Pradesh) on which the film is based, moved the Court to block the release of the film.
Pal moved the Court seeking a restraining order on the release of Gulaab Gang saying that the filmmakers did not seek her permission before making the movie.
She also sought financial compensation, saying that the film had certain scenes that were bound to affect her reputation. To this the Court commented, "Reputation once lost is lost forever and cannot come back and it even can't be compensated with monetary terms."
Lets see whether the film will see the light of the day or not!
Gulaab Gang was to release this Friday 7 March.
