MUMBAI :The film industry woke up today to the sad news of veteran producer Dhirajlal Shah’s passing. He was best known for producing the Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra starrer The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy. Shah’s brother Hasmukh confirmed the news that the producer passed away on Monday. Dhirajlal was admitted to the hospital for the last few days and was struggling for his life until his body gave up due to multiple organ failure.

Hasmukh said that Dhirajlal has contracted covid-19 which resulted in an issue with his lungs. Hasmukh said, “His health deteriorated in the last 20 days and we had to admit him to the ICU. His kidney and heart were affected, which resulted in multi-organ failure.”

The Indian Film TV Producers Council paid their respects to Shah on X sharing his picture and writing, “Deeply Saddening News Owner of Apna Cinema & Time Video Mr. Dhirajlal Nanji Shah Ji has passed away. Deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. Om Shanti.”
