Did Sushant Singh Rajput’s co star Swastika Mukherjee try to commit suicide?

The controversially bold actress Swastika Mukherjee who will be seen with Sushant Singh Rajput in Detective Byomkesh Bakshi was on Saturday admitted to Apollo hospital in Kolkata with cuts to her left hand. Doctors performed an operation on the actress and glass shreds were removed from her forearm and wrist. Plastic and cosmetic surgeon Kaushik Nandy was quoted saying, "Swastika has sustained an injury on her left arm, for which plastic surgery was conducted on Saturday morning. The surgery took about an hour. It could take about a month for the repaired portion to settle down and go back to near-original.” The incident has set off rumour mills churning about the entire episode being Swastika’s alleged attempt to commit suicide following a fight with her current boyfriend who is believed to be a film director. Swastika’s family however downplayed the incident and her sister Ajopa Mukherjee was quoted saying that Swastika had been partying when she fell down. "She got injuries on her head and hand. She was holding a glass, pieces of which got into her arm as she fell," Ajopa reportedly said. The actress too in her statement to police said that she sustained cuts during a late-night party. Swastika comes with a checkered past. The actress got married at the tender age of 18 to singer Pramit Sen and bore his daughter. She separated from Pramit two years later alleging physical abuse. She then allegedly dated Bengali actor Jeet for a brief while before entering into a relation with actor Parambrata Chatterjee of Kahaani fame. Pramit Sen who was technically Swastika’s husband as they had not officially divorced then filed a case of adultery against Parambrata. Swastika and Parambrata called off their relationship in 2010. Recently, the actress was in news for delivering a nude love making scene in Take One. It however remains to be seen if the latest episode in Swastika’s life is just merely an accident or an attempt to commit suicide as gossip mongers insist. Keep watching this space for more.
