MUMBAI: The 2009 release Wake Up Sid! Was one of the surprise hits of that year that brought together the unlikely pair of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma. Audiences simply loved their chemistry and performance in the film. Even today it is considered one of the best performances of Ranbir as a spoiled rich brat who is suddenly burdened by life’s many responsibilities and how he tackles them.

Konkana Sen Sharma as usual was amazing as Aisha in the film, the friend who show’s Sid’s character the mirror of reality. The film recently completed 14 years. Speaking of the Ayan Mukerji directorial having a sequel Konkana said, “Realistically, because everyone has that one big romance in their life. Not everyone marries their first love, which can be a good or a bad thing.”
She further said, “They are with other people, and they meet again, and they have that one interesting conversation. A whole Before Sunrise and Before Sunset scene That would be interesting.”
Recalling her first interaction with Ranbir Kapoor, Konkana said, “I think it must have been the rehearsals and not the first day of the shoot. Ayan was good with the preparation. Credit goes to him because he did such a fantastic job of writing the characters and making them come alive. I remember we used to talk about what books Aisha may have read, coming up with a background story together. Those days, there were CDs, and he gave me a CD of Aisha's favourite songs, the old movie songs”
Wake Up Sid! Also starred Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, and Rahul Khanna, among many others.
