It was earlier updated that Pratik Gandhi is doing yet another project with Hansal Mehta named Dedh Bigha Zameen, now TellyChakkar has exclusively learnt that TMKOC's renowned actor Daya Shankar Pandey will play a pivotal role in the film.

Details about his character are yet to be disclosed.

Set in the small town of Uttar Pradesh, the family drama follows the story of a "dignified struggle of a common man" to win his land back. It is being helmed by Pulkit, the director of Rajkummar Rao-starrer series "Bose: Dead or Alive".

The shoot has been commenced in Jhansi today,  "Dedh Bigha Zameen" also stars Khushali Kumar, who recently finished shooting for her debut film, a psychological thriller, in which she stars alongside R Madhavan and Aparshakti Khurana.

Daya Shankar Pandey has been a prominent name in the industry for more than two decades. From Lagaan to Haseen Dilruba and Tehkikat to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the actor has an impressive repertoire. Apart from films and TV, he has broadened his horizons in the Gujarati industry with Reva and the web world as well.
