MUMBAI: Actor Anuj Sharma will be seen next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actor spoke exclusively to Tellychakkar.com, about the film, his character, and the experience of working with Alia Bhatt, Vijay Raaz, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Tell us about the response you have been getting to the trailer?
I am very happy that Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir has given me some great screen presence in the trailer with some great dialogue in Gangubai Kathiawadi. People who have seen me in the trailer have loved it. Till now, I have got a very good response for the trailer. It's a big film and I am more than happy to be a part of it.

Tell us about your character in it?
I am playing a negative character in this film. My character is in support of Vijay Raaz who is playing the main negative lead. I am in the opposition party of Gangubai, which you can see in the trailer. For now, I can't reveal much about my character because I don't know how much of my character will be there in the film.
Your experience of working with Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali?
As an actor I always see the character played by the actors and not how big or small is that actor. For me, the director is the biggest thing on the sets. Working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir was amazing because he is such a cool person. This is my second film with him, he is more like an actor’s director because he guides his actors so well that makes you think that yes he is right while informing a scene. It made me think why I couldn’t think of performing the way he told me. I could have done it the other way as well, so there are so many things I have to learn from sir. It is always a learning experience while working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt is so comfortable to work with. She also treats her co-actor very well. Overall it was a great experience working with her.
How was your experience of working with Vijay Raaz?
Vijay Raaz is one of the most amazing actors in the industry. There are two types of people in the industry one are actors who entertain their audience and the second are artists who live the life of characters. And Vijay Raaz is one of them. So, yes, he is an amazing actor to work with.
