MUMBAI: Darshan Kumar is a very popular actor, who was lauded for his performance in the movie The Kashmir Files.
He got his Bollywood break from the 2014 movie 'Mary Kom', where he worked alongside Priyanka Chopra. After this, he got the chance to be a part of many other hit movies like NH 10, Mirza Juliet, Sarbjit, Baaghi 2, PM Narendra Modi, etc.
Besides films, Kumar was also active on small screen and has appeared in various television shows like Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Chhoti Bahu, Baba Aiso Varr Dhundho, etc. He also appeared in some television commercials.

TellyChakkar recently caught up with him at an event and spoke to him about many topics like sports, movies, Tollywood, Bollywood, and more.
Is being a sportsman more difficult than being an actor?
Actually, if your will is strong enough to work with passion and dedication to fulfill it and execute it with hard work, you can fulfill both things. This is not a diplomatic answer, but rather something I truly believe from the bottom of my heart. I never say diplomatic things.
Recently, there was a wave where movies produced by the Hindi film industry were not working and only movies made by the South industry were until Pathaan came along, what are your views about the same?
What I'm about to say might sound diplomatic, but it is not. To be honest, we are all Hindustani, this divided category of South, North, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films should not be done. These are all movies made in the nation and any good film that works helps and benefits the industry. If the movies made in the South Indian languages or ones made in Hindi languages are working, it is a cause of celebration. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved - the producers, the actors, and the industry, because when good films and movies work well, it gives strength to the other producers to make good content. The divide of actors is getting removed from all languages, so there is a synergy there.
Is there a specific kind of role or an actor or director that you would want to work with from the Hindi film industry?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir launched me as a producer. He was the producer of Mary Kom and launched me opposite Priyanka. I am forever indebted to him for that. If I ever get a chance to be directed by him, that would be a dream come true, and Raju Hirani sir is another legend I would like to work with. Talking about a role, if a biopic is ever made on Virat Kohli, I would love to do that.
Darshan was last seen in the movie Dhoka Around D corner and will be seen supporting the Mumbai Heros in the Celebrity Cricket League.
