MUMBAI: A big franchise film was recently announced and it was supposed to be the third entry in a long awaited hit series. The earlier two films were headlined by one of the biggest superstars the country has ever seen. In fact, the films were a remake of an earlier, very successful film, which was also headlined some decades ago, by one of the biggest superstars the country has ever seen.

Now, the third entry in this very successful franchise was to be headlined by one of the biggest rising stars this country currently has but the moment it was announced, the fans of the earlier superstars did not take too kindly to the franchise announcement and it didn't seem to have perturbed the makers who were still willing to go ahead.
However, as per the latest updates, it has been revealed by a source closely connected with the industry and knows the inner workings of the film that the project, despite being in the early development stages and makers happy with how it has been shaping up, they don't seem to be finding any interested buyers.
There's no single third-party producer or investor willing to put money on this project. It seems like a dead on arrival case because nobody is willing to bet a fresh face, despite the face being quite popular against the stalwarts, who had already run the franchise.
So, it seems that this eagerly awaited three-quel will now be shelved permanently and if at all it will again be taken up, it would only be after three to four projects already in the pipeline for that production house.
