Pushkar Jog is a name that will undoubtedly ring a bell in the minds of all Maharashtrians. A very popular actor in Marathi cinema who has given hits like Zabardast, Tukya Tukavila Nagya Nagvila, Mission Possible, Pushkar will soon be seen making his foray in Bollywood with his debut movie Huff! It’s too much both as an actor and director. Talking about his maiden Bollywood venture, Pushkar said, “My film basically talks about a live-in relation and I have tried to give a humourous twist to it by showing funny and light-hearted moments live-ins can throw up in reality. It’s nothing preachy. The film is based in London and also shows the trials and tribulations of young Indians guys staying abroad. It’s an out and out family film with humour, romance and outstanding music.” Pushkar who has always been a big fan of Yashraj and Dharma Productions draws inspiration from them for this movie. “I think the movies of Yashraj and Dharma productions represent true Bollywood according to me. The grandeur, the exotic locations and the blooming romance is what attracts me to a Bollywood movie. I remember watching the helicopter shot in Chandni where Rishi Kapoor looks at Sridevi and I was hooked on. Since then I have always nurtured this dream of making a movie where everything looks grand and larger-than-life,” shared Pushkar The story of Huff! It’s Too Much was conceptualized by Pushkar himself and certain portions of the movie is based on some of his real life experiences. “I have a lot of female friends who are confused and indecisive in real life. So whenever I used to be with them I used to be frustrated with the entire confusion that used to emanate from them. All these incidents came in handy while scripting the movie.” Pushkar who already has many hits to his name in Marathi cinema is now looking to cement himself in Bollywood. “Bollywood is the biggest canvas among all other film industries in India and it’s been my great dream to work in Bollywood and I plan to continue here.” From the looks of it, Pushkar sure seems to be doing well. Apart from his debut venture, Pushkar already has a couple of more films in his kitty like ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ with Rajpal Yadav and Vinay Pathak and Pushkar’s next home production Good Buddy Gadbadi. Well, we wish this talented actor all the best. Huff! It’s Too Much will release on 25 October (2013). The movie also marks the debut of Pakistani-Canadian actress Armeena Rana Khan who plays the female lead in the movie.
