MUMBAI: Fardeen Khan returned to Bollywood after a long year. He starred in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed web series Heeramandi. The actor spoke recently about the challenging time he went through dealing with trolls. Fardeen Khan described it as a "challenging time" and recalled how he handled it in an interview with the popular news portal.

Fardeen Khan said, “It was a revelation of sorts. It was like, ‘wow it can go to this extent’. Of course, it was tough. It was a challenging time. But, you know, this business teaches you to have thick skin. You have to, sometimes take a few knocks on the chin. Then again, you got to question how much importance you give everyone’s opinion to feel validated yourself. I mean, was I surprised? I wasn’t. I had cut off from the industry for many, many years before that. So, I mean, even the fact that I received that kind of attention in itself, surprised me.”

Fardeen Khan has gained widespread attention and praise for his performance in the series. His Fans showered him with lots of love and compliments for his comeback.

In a conversation with the popular news portal, Fardeen reveals how he serendipitously caught the attention of the casting director of the series while attending an event. “I was spotted at an award function by Shruti Mahajan, who has closely worked with Mr Bhansali over the years. I don’t know whether she was there or she saw me on television, but she thought that I would suit the character of Wali,” he recalls.

“She called me when I got back from Abu Dhabi. She told me that she would want me to meet Mr Bhansali and his team. And since I was away from the movies for so long, they just wanted to see if I really suited the part,” says Fardeen.

Fardeen Khan is getting ready for Khel Khel Mein, his upcoming movie. Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal play key parts in the film in addition to Fardeen Khan. The release date is planned for August 15.

Khel Khel Mein is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Shashikant Sinha, and Ajay Rai, seeks to reinvent the comedy-drama genre by providing an intense emotional rollercoaster that goes beyond the typical.
