First non 'A' lister Ranveer Singh enters Rs 100 crore club

All these days we have been hearing of films of ‘A’ listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan making to the Rs 100 crore club. But with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela notching Rs 100 crore in matter of less than two weeks, Ranveer Singh has got his name enlisted among the stars whose films have already made it to the 100 crore club. This despite the fact that Ram-Leela was not made in the mould of Salman Khan’s Dabangg, Wanted or Bodyguard and Hrithik Roshan’s latest Krrish 3 of for that matter the Krrish series. The success has not only increased the box office value of Ranveer Singh but also established him as one of the leading heroes in the industry who can carry a film on his shoulders at the box office. At this juncture it may be noted that Ranveer who made his debut with Yashraj Films’ Band Baaja Baaraat managed to enter this hyped club only thanks to the masterly direction of Bhansali. The film not only proved to be enchanting to the viewers but it also made the connoisseurs of cinema sit up and take notice of this masterpiece. It showcased the beautiful chemistry between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone on a Guajarati backdrop.
