MUMBAI: A few days ago, the nation woke up to another heart-wrenching news in the city of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh where a 19-year-old Dalit girl was raped by 4 upper class men and the girl lost her life in New Delhi due to her injuries. The girl was brutally raped and injured on the 14th of September and she was admitted to Aligarh and finally transferred due to her condition to New Delhi and after a struggle of 15 days lost her life.
The entire incident triggered millions across the country during this pandemic. People took to the social media to lash out at the culprits.
Meanwhile, Bollywood celebrities also expressed their anger and demanded for strict legal actions against the culprits in order to finally put an end to it’s repercussions
Celebs like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Athiya Shetty, etc. called it 'disgusting' while others came forward to appeal for the implementation of legal actions against it.
Anushka Sharma who is currently in Dubai to attend the ongoing IPL with her husband (Captain of the Indian Cricket team) Virat Kohli, expressed her anger on the issue She shared on social media, "The horrific story of Hathras gangrape has devastated me...I sincerely hope that the strictest punishment is given to the barbaric men who have carried out such a horrific, inhuman act on a young life and caused her family irreparable pain."
Even Virat Kohli shared a tweet about the awful act quoting, "What happened in #Hathras is inhumane and goes beyond cruelty. Hope the culprits of this heinous crime will be brought to justice."
Akshay Kumar shared, "Angry & Frustrated! Such brutality in #Hathras gangrape. When will this stop? Our laws & their enforcement must be so strict that the mere thought of punishment makes rapists shudder with fear! Hang the culprits. Raise ur voice to safeguard daughters & sisters-its the least we can do."

Kangana Ranaut shared a tweet that reads: " Shoot these rapists publicly, what is the solution to these gang rapes that are growing in numbers every year? What a sad and shameful day for this country. Shame on us we failed our daughters. I have immense faith in @myogiadityanath ji, just how Priyanka Reddy rapists were shot dead on the very spot they raped and burnt her alive we want the same emotional, instinctive and impulsive justice for #HathrasHorror #HathrasHorrorShocksIndia."
Kareena Kapoor Khan shared her anger on this incident through her Instagram story and wrote, " So Sorry Manisha Valmiki!"
Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared, " The disrespect and abuse, The frustration and anger, The sadness and helplessness, These emotions replay on loop. All they cry out is inhuman, barbaric Why? Again and again and again... Always the women Always the young girls Rape after rape after rape... We cry, they cry and yet, no one hears the screams. Why the hate? Are the parents raising boys listening? Is the law mute to the screams? How many more Nirbhayas? How many more years? #Hathras."
Kriti Sanon also penned down her thoughts on social media, expressing her anger saying, " Before the anger could subside and before the horrifying Hathras incident could sink in, her body was forcefully cremated without the permission of her family and another case has been reported. It disgusts and scares me at the same time! When will this end??” Further, she added, “We have been voicing the issue of women safety and the ever-increasing rape cases for years!! And these are just the ones that have been “reported”! A small percentage of the actual number!."
Alia Bhatt too expressed her grief in the matter and shared, "They cut her tongue but they could not silence her. She now speaks in a billion voices. #Hathras."
