Here are few shocking statements made by Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Somy Ali in the recent past

MUMBAI: Actress Somy Ali, The Pakistan-born former actress was a known name back in the day for her role in films such as Khiladi, Krishan Avtaar and Yaar Gaddar among a few others. She has shared screen space with stars like Salman Khan, Govinda, Suniel Shetty, and Mithun Chakraborty.

Having starred in 10 Hindi films, her career in Bollywood was short-lived after which she moved to the US. The actress, who now lives in the US, had also hogged the limelight for her relationship with Salman. She now runs a non-profit organisation named No More Tears.

Somy recently made headlines after she opened up about a traumatising incident of being sexually abused during her childhood. Listed below are five shocking statements made by her in the recent past. 

Sexually abused at the age of 5, 9 and 14

During an interview with PeepinMoon, Somy was quoted saying, "The first time I was sexually abused in Pakistan, I was 5 years old. There were 3 incidents in the servant’s quarters. I told my mum and dad, actions were taken. But what my parents told me is that, “Beta yeh kisiko batana nahi.” In my head, I lived with that for years. I thought, “Did I do something wrong? Why was I told by my parents?” Pakistan and Indian cultures are very image-based. They were protecting me but I didn’t understand it. Again there was an incident at 9, then again at 14."

Apologises to Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, and Mithun Chakraborty

The former actress apologised to her yesteryear's co-stars for being patient while working with her. The actress starred in as many as 10 Hindi films out of which one remained unreleased. She then quit acting and moved to the US. In the same interview, Somy also called herself the "worst dancer".

"From Salman to Sanjay, to Saif to Chunky, to Govinda, to Mithun da, late Om Puri Ji, I send them my heartiest apologies for dealing with me as an actor," she said. 

Called herself a "pathetic actor"

The 44-year-old diva was "baffled" by the fact how she ended up doing 10 films. She begged forgiveness from her directors and said she had no interest in acting. 

Goal was to marry Salman

As a teenager, the former actress came to Mumbai with just one goal in her mind - to marry Salman. It was after watching Maine Pyar Kiya that she developed the desire to marry the star. "I told my mom that I am going to India tomorrow. She, of course, sent me off to my room, but I kept pleading that I have to go to India and marry this guy — Salman Khan," she once told ETimes. 

"Salman never abused me"

Somy, who once dated Salman, shared that the actor was never abusive to her nor did she ever see him being abusive to anyone else.
