Hrithik and Salman are two superstars I admire - Akshay Kumar

It's a known fact that Shaukeen will see Akshay Kumar playing himself - a Bollywood superstar. And superstar he definitely is. From being a light assistant of a fashion photographer to becoming one of the most bankable superstars of Bollywood today, Akshay Kumar is your typical rags to riches story. And for those naysayers who still doubt his superstardom, a walk around his palace residence should be medicine enough to understand how big the man is today. Although he plays a superstar in Shaukeen, in real life it is Hrithik and Salman that Akshay likes. When we asked him to name a superstar from Bollywood that he truly admires, Akshay put on his thinking hat, thought about question well and replied, "Hrithik and Salman are the two superstars who I admire in Bollywood." While Akshay is a superstar today with no dearth of films in his kitty, there was a time when he became an untouchable after delivering a string of flops. Infact, by Akshay's own admission, many producers had stopped approaching him in past before he became a superstar. But Akshay nurses no grudge against them. Infact, he today welcomes them with open arms. "When those producers who didn't want to work with me in past approaches me today, I don't say no. I shake hands, quote my price and work with them." Well, now that's spoken like a true superstar.
