I don't understand why people tag films as dark - Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an actor who has made his mark by playing roles that are inevitably dark in nature. But guess what? The actor absolutely loathes when someone tags his performances as dark. For the actor, a role is something that has to be enacted as per the story and the director's vision. He would rather see it as just a normal role rather than appending it as dark or light. Nawaz who will next be seen in Badlapur plays the role of a man who is seen indulging in brutal violence. When we asked Nawaz if his forte lies in playing dark characters, Nawaz shot back asking, “Which role of mine before this was dark?” When we reminded him about his villainous act in Kick, Nawaz said, "I don't understand why roles are termed as dark. For me, it's just a role that I play." Nawaz also expressed his grouse at the general bifurcation of cinema into mainstream and off beat cinema. Said Nawaz, "I don't know why films too are tagged as mainstream and parallel ones. For me, there are only two kinds of cinema. A good cinema or a bad cinema. I am strictly against this tagging." Well, Nawaz may be the tagging will stop once we see you do something which is not exactly villainous in nature.
