I will not quit acting to marry a rich industrialist- Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor is a strong independent woman of today. Despite being born with a Kapoor surname, she never banked upon her superstar father to make it big in Bollywood. After being a part of multiple 100 crore projects in Bollywood, the actress today has come into her own by playing strong women centric roles in movies like Aisha and Khoobsurat. And what's interesting to note is Sonam's desire to never quit acting.

Unlike other B-town divas who settle for matrimony after clocking the age of 30 and more in life, Sonam definitely has no such plans. And she certainly is not tying the knot with a rich moneybag industrialist for sure like other B-town girls.

"I should be irreplaceable in terms of acting. I have to do films that make me matter in the project. I can’t just be a pretty face. Eventually the pretty face will fade away. I don’t plan to stop acting when I am 32 or 33 and get married to a rich industrialist and stop working. This is my job. Every year I think of getting better at my craft. I need to be as good as the people I look up to in life," says Sonam.

And unlike other actresses who prefer doing nothing roles in big films, Sonam would rather do something that is relevant and worth her time.

"I will not choose to do films where I am not relevant. If I spend my time on something, it should be worthwhile. I do a film only if it will make me wake up in the morning and say that I am doing something productive with my time. I don’t judge anybody who does other films because that is there point of view. My point of view is that if I go to work I need to be relevant in my job. It’s not about screen space or screen time that you get. In Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, I was there for 10 mins. If people remember you for that 10 min role of yours, then your purpose of being in the film has been served."

Sonam also doesn't want to be a part of the rat race that exists in Bollywood. "I am not here to be the number one movie star," reveals a candid Sonam.

How we love actresses who speak their mind!
