MUMBAI: As India prepares to celebrate its 77th Independence Day, the nation is focused on its journey toward becoming a Viksit Bharat, or a developed India. Actress Shivangi Verma, known for her role in Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, believes that the entertainment industry can play a pivotal role in this transformation. According to her, cinema and television hold the power to bring about positive societal changes and inspire citizens to contribute to the nation's development.

"Indian cinema and television can contribute to development by addressing social issues and fostering a sense of pride in our culture. By creating content that inspires and educates, we can encourage positive change and support the nation's growth," Shivangi remarked. She sees the visual medium as a powerful tool for promoting important values and driving societal progress.

Shivangi highlighted the impact of films like Dangal and Pink, as well as television shows like Satyamev Jayate, in shaping public opinion and advancing social causes. "These works have influenced society by promoting values such as gender equality, education, and unity, helping to shape a more progressive society," she added. For her, such content not only entertains but also serves as a catalyst for change, addressing key issues that resonate with the masses.

For Shivangi, true independence in India means the freedom to express oneself and pursue one's dreams. "It’s about the opportunity to contribute to the country's progress and live in a society where everyone’s voice matters," she concluded. Shivangi's vision reflects a deep belief in the power of media to not only reflect society but to actively shape its future, guiding India towards becoming a Viksit Bharat.
