Irrfan wins top honour at Asian Film Awards

Irrfan, who has charmed his way into the hearts of the audience and critics alike with his power packed performances in films like Maqbool, Life of Pi, The Namesake, Pan Singh Tomar and more recently The Lunchbox added yet another feather to his cap last night when he bagged the top honours at the Asian Film Awards, more commonly known as the Oscars of the East. Commenting on his win, the actor exclaimed, "It's a great honour to be nominated alongside an actor like Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (The Grandmaster) and winning." In addition, The Lunchbox director Ritesh Batra also bagged the award for the best screenplay. The Asian Film Awards were held in Macau on Thursday.
