MUMBAI: Juhi Chawla is one of the most beloved Bollywood actresses of the late '80s and early '90s. She became an overnight sensation because of the success of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT). “I was working in Nagesh Kukunoor’s 3 Deewarein and shooting in Hyderabad. He told me that he was my fan and liked my work in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT). I thought he was joking and was being sweet because I was working with him,” she shared.
As their professional relationship developed, Nagesh invited Juhi to his home for lunch, where he revealed a treasured poster of her film pasted inside his cupboard. “One day, after the shoot, he took me to his house for lunch and showed me a poster of QSQT pasted inside his cupboard. He told me, ‘Maine aaj tak nahin utaare (I still have them stuck here. I haven’t taken them off).’ It is so interesting that he was a fan and here, I am working on his film and he was directing me. Life can be amazing.”
The film 3 Deewarein, also stars Jackie Shroff and Naseeruddin Shah, tells the tale of a documentary filmmaker, who shoots the reformation of three hardened criminals within a jail and discovers redemption in her own life.
