Singer Ariana Grande, who has taken her relationship with Pete Davidson to the next level, has defended her and singer Justin Bieber's rapid engagement to reality television personality Hailey Baldwin.

Bieber reportedly got engaged to Baldwin on 7 July in Bahamas, while Grande and Davidson got engaged just a month after it was revealed they were dating.

A social media user made the Scooter Braun connection, pointing out how both Bieber and Grande share the same manager, reports eonline.com.

Johnny Depp sued for allegedly punching location manager

Actor Johnny Depp has been sued for allegedly punching a location manager who was trying to enforce permit restrictions on the set of upcoming crime film City of Lies.

Gregg "Rocky" Brooks alleged on Monday that the incident occurred on 13 April, 2017, when Depp was filming outside the Barclay Hotel in downtown here, reports variety.com.

From a mission gone horribly wrong to racing against time to complete the film after Tom Cruise injured himself while doing a stunt, director Christopher McQuarrie says he is proud of the movie and the team behind the project.

"I just wanted to thank everybody for coming. You are the first audience to see the film. We finished the film five days ago and you are the first audience to watch the film. Tom Cruise saw the finished film last night," McQuarrie told a selected group of journalists present for the international screening of the film here on Monday.

Actor producer Dwayne Johnson has joked about being the one responsible for bringing together actress Priyanka Chopra and singer Nick Jonas.

Johnson, also known as 'The Rock', has quipped he was secretly the matchmaker behind the romance, reports etonline.com

Asked about the highly talked about relationship, Johnson first replied with a question, "Are they happy?"

After learning that the couple seems to be doing well, Johnson cordially confirmed his role in bringing his former co-stars together.

'Damn Yankees' star Tab Hunter dead

Damn Yankee actor Tab Hunter, a gay icon, is dead. He was 86.

Hunter died on 8 July in Santa Barbara after a blood clot in his leg caused a cardiac arrest, Allan Glaser, Hunter's partner for more than three decades, confirmed to variety.com.

Hunter rose to the top ranks of Hollywood leading men in the 1950s and early 1960s. He appeared in the likes of “Damn Yankees” and “Battle Cry”, and had chart-topping records such as "Young Love".

But at the height of his popularity, he was dogged by rumours that he was gay, a potentially career-ending trivia during that culturally conservative era.

Arista Records to be relaunched

Arista Records that once served as the home to numerous iconic artistes, including Whitney Houston, Carlos Santana and Aretha Franklin, will be relaunched.

Sony Music Entertainment CEO Rob Stringer made the announcement on Monday.

The legendary label will become a new frontline creative centre within Sony Music led by music industry executive David Massey, who will serve as President and CEO of Arista. Massey is based in New York and reports directly to Stringer.

Weinstein pleads not guilty in third sex assault case

Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein has pleaded not guilty in a third sexual assault case.

Weinstein, who appeared in court in New York on Monday, had already pleaded not guilty to all charges in the first two cases, back in June, BBC reported.

The 66-year-old, who has been on $1 million bail since his arrest in May, has denied having non-consensual sex, his lawyers have previously said.

He has been accused of sexual misconduct by more than 70 women.

Those accusations gave rise to the #MeToo movement, which has seen hundreds of women accusing high-profile men in business, government and entertainment of sexual abuse and harassment.

Stan Lee drops $1 billion lawsuit amid legal turmoil

Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee has dismissed a $1 billion lawsuit against POW! Entertainment, in which the Marvel icon claims he had been duped into signing away the exclusive right to his name.

The move comes as turmoil continues in Lee's personal life.

The lawsuit was filed in May when the 95-year-old Lee was allegedly under the sway of memorabilia collector Keya Morgan. Morgan is now barred from contacting Lee or coming within 100 yards of him, under a restraining order granted on Friday, reports variety.com.

Mark Rylance urges people to protest during Trump's UK visit

Oscar-winning actor Mark Rylance has urged people here to stage a protest during US President Donald Trump's upcoming four-day visit. He feels not doing so would be hugely damaging.

Rylance had last week, along with various artistes, had performed at a special event titled "Just Say No: Artists against Trump & War", organised by Stop the War Coalition here.

The actor gave two performances. The first was a 20-minute reading of a short story by author (and Rylance's sister) Susannah Waters called "Bully," set in the White House, and the second was a 30-minute narration of Harold Pinter's famed Nobel lecture in 2005 in which the dramatist delivered a passionate and devastating attack on US foreign policy since World War II, reports hollywoodreporter.com

Rapper Mozzy arrested for illegal gun possession

Rapper Timothy Mozzy Patterson, popularly known as Mozzy, was arrested for illegal gun possession here.

The rapper was pulled up by the police last week for failing to signal during the change of lane while driving. Mozzy was driving a black Maserati without a driving license. The vehicle had a missing number plate. Upon inspection of the vehicle, a loaded gun lock in a black hardcover bag was found.

Mozzy has been arrested thrice by the Sacramento Police for possession crimes, including illegal possession of a firearm and evading police between 2005 and 2008.
