MUMBAI: The sweet and cute little Jhanak Shula who was called the blue-eyed girl is all grown up now. The child actor who won everyone's heart with her cute smile in the Hindi remake of an American show by the name Little Wonder, has grown up to be a beautiful girl. The former actress, who is away from acting, recently shared with Human Of Bombay how her life was as a child actress and the reason behind not continuing with acting as a profession. 

Jhanak is popular actress Supriya Shukla's daughterJhanak, who is the daughter of popular TV actress Supriya Shukla shared in the post that her association with TV is very old and entering the industry was not a difficult thing for her as her parents work here. Jhanak would often accompany her parents to the shoots and hence she joined the industry. 

How her acting career began

She also spoke about how her acting career started. She revealed that her first acting assignment was an ad commercial for a bank in which she was required to show her emotional side and since she was quite emotional and sensitive as a kid, she bagged that role. That ad went on to win the award of the best advertisement of the year, back then. Bagging Karishma Ka Karishma

After this, Jhanak bagged her first superhit show, Karishma Ka Karishma (the remake of American show, Small Wonder).


As a child actor acting was not a big deal

Jhanak recalled that she was 7-year-old then and her father would accompany her to the sets and manage everything for her. She also stated that back then acting was not a big deal for her and she found it quite easy. She would have lots of fun on the sets and her studies, school was manageable because her teachers were quite cooperative. She always continued her studies. (Photo: Instagram)

Doing Kal Ho Na Ho

Jhanak shared that after her hit show Karishma Ka Karishma she went on to bag Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan starrer Kal Ho Na Ho and Hollywood film 'One Night With The King'.

Education was always her priority

The former actress also spoke how despite becoming an actor, education was always her priority and she took a break from TV to focus on her studies. She also said that her parents always believed that she should first finish graduation and then take up any profession which she wants. Hence, Jhanak left acting mid-way and shifted her focus to studies.

08/11Masters in Archeology

Jhanak has done Masters in Archeology and she never went through any stress because of her work. She also stated that as a kid she always told everyone that she would want to become an actress once she grows up, but she now understands that acting as a career option is very tough.

Jhanak doesn't see acting as a full-time profession

Giving reference of her mother Supriya, Jhanak explained how much hard work she does on a daily basis and works day and night. She also opened up about people asking her about her comeback to acting but she doesn't see acting as a full-time profession as she knows that one day somebody else will take your place. 

About her futureJhanak is currently doing a Post Graduate diploma in Business and her entire focus is on her business of making soaps. She has also thought about her future and says that if her business grows and is successful, she plans to settle in the mountains. Jhanak says she has understood that this moment is for self love and care because no one knows 'Kal Ho Na Ho'. 

Jhanak on weight issues and trolling

In her post on Official People Of India, the actress had opened up about her weight gain and also talked about trolling, "The problems arose when I started gaining weight rapidly and, as we all know, social media is a platform where you are judged on your appearance, body structure and way of life. Health is important of course, but touchwood I have not faced health issues as of now. People on social media act like dieticians and bash me for my weight, I try ignoring them but sometimes it is hard to digest. I am a very sensitive person and I don’t feel I owe an explanation for my body, my face and my lifestyle to anyone."
