MUMBAI: Tickets for Kalki 2898 AD are being sold for an unbelievable Rs 23,000 not even in the regions of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. On Thursday, June 27, the Nag Ashwin movie is set to release.
The eagerly awaited Telugu film is also making its Tamil and Hindi debut and it stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone. Many fans already booked seats for the first day of the first show in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, and Chennai, with advance booking being opened.
In most cities, the cost of movie tickets ranges from Rs 100 to Rs 1,100. Surprisingly the most expensive Nag Ashwin movie ticket is Rs 2300, and that's not even in Hyderabad, where the movie is the most popular. The costliest ticket for Kalki 2898 AD is being sold in Mumbai, according to a well-known news source.
Maison INOX: Jio World Plaza in BKC is selling tickets for Kalki 2898 AD for Rs 2,300. Coming close to it is the INOX: Insignia at Atria Mall, Worli and PVR ICON: Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, who are selling the tickets to the film at Rs 1,760 and Rs 1,560, respectively. Although Andhra Pradesh has a cap on ticket prices, the Andhra Pradesh government has now allowed a hike for the tickets for the movie. The government has approved a ticket price increase of Rs 75 for single-screen cinemas and Rs 125 for multiplexes, applicable for two weeks starting from the movie’s release date and for all five daily showings. This decision follows a request from Aswini Dutt, the producer of Kalki 2898 AD, categorized as a ‘Super High Budget Film’.
The movie's trailer, which debuted earlier this month, indicated that Kalki 2898 AD is a futuristic take on the Mahabharat. The story starts in Kaashi, a resource-rich region ruled by the persona of Saswata Chatterjee, who expects total loyalty. He will be overthrown by a child, according to a prophecy, and Deepika Padukone's character is this child.
The king places a bounty on her head to safeguard his kingdom. Famous hunter Bhairava, played by Prabhas, feels it is his destiny to capture her. The goal of Amitabh Bachchan's Ashwatthama is to keep her safe. Fans were thrilled when they saw an intense glimpse of Kamal Haasan at the trailer's end.
