Kamal -Akshara's father-daughter moment dominates Shamitabh; Sarika takes a backseat

Sarika has been a single mom for long ever since her separation from her superstar husband, Kamal Haasan. After elder daughter Shruti found her feet in the film industry, it was Akshara who became the center of her attention. One could see the youngster accompanying her mom at many public events as well as shoots.

At the first trailer launch of Shamitabh it was Sarika who made her presence felt guiding Akshara through the red carpet and other proceedings at the event. Akshara, on her part, also acknowledged on stage her mom's contribution in her life but failed to mention Kamal. Interestingly, last year at an event at Whistling Woods Kamal Haasan was heard telling the media that Akshara was yet to touch base with him (then) to seek his inputs on her debut film.

All that however changed yesterday when the Southern superstar arrived in style at the grand music launch of Shamitabh to bless his debutant daughter. Akshara who arrived later with her sister Shruti immediately proceeded to hug her father. With Kamal present, the cameras were trained on the handsome albeit ageing actor while ex wife Sarika took a backseat quietly. Onlookers say that both greeted each other formally and were quite civil with each other.

In a touching moment later, Akshara showed her father Kamal, the new trailer of Shamitabh and asked if there was anything that she could improve on. And the veteran simply smiled in return and said, "There are about thousand things that I could suggest but I think you did very well and with Balki at the helm of things, I am sure he must have taken care of everything well."

While we certainly liked the father-daughter moment on stage, we feel the picture could have been even more perfect had Sarika and Shruti too been invited on stage.
