In fact, he has unfollowed almost everyone on Twitter and has made his Instagram comments section limited. This comes in the wake of a raging debate on nepotism, sparked off after Sushant Singh Rajput ended his life on 14 June. Many of the late actor’s social media followers believe, he took the drastic step after being ‘wronged’ by the industry that perpetrates nepotism. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Karan has already sent across his resignation to the director, Smriti Kiran.
The report further states that it’s likely, the filmmaker is upset with the social media bashing and lack of support from his friends from the fraternity.
As per the report, the MAMI chairperson, Deepika Padukone tried her best to convince Karan Johar to stay on in his position and not end his association with MAMI but the filmmaker made it known that his decision is final.
