KOLKATA: Award-winning Bengali film director Kaushik Ganguly says that he is truly proud of Nagarkirtan.
Written and helmed by Kaushik Ganguly, the film centres on same-sex relationships. It stars award-winning actors Riddhi Sen and Ritwick Chakraborty in lead roles. Riddhi essays the role of a boy from rural Bengal, while Ritwick has stepped into the shoes of a flute player from the Kirtaniya town of Nabadweep.
Nagarkirtan has been screened at film festivals and earned appreciation. It bagged four awards including the Special Jury Award (Feature Film) and National Film Award for Best Actor for Riddhi at the 65th National Film Awards.
The film has also been selected for the Indian Panorama 2018.
