Lata Mangeshkar's brother Hridaynath to perform in China

There was a time when the Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar of India brought tears to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s eyes with her poignant rendition of Ae mere watan ke logon, a poignant rendition of India’s crippling defeat in the 1962 Indo-China war. Though the song continues to a favourite emblem of nationalism much has changed in the political and cultural scenario since then. This week Lataji’s brother the very talented Hridaynath Mangeshkar and his entire family left for China for a live performance. There is a sizable population of Indians specially in the entrepreneurial field in China. Says a source close to the family, “Hridaynath Mangeshkar accepted the invitation to perform live on stage in Shanghai .To him it’s a wonderful way to further bring the two countries together.” Hridaynath Mangeshkar is the first prominent artiste from the Indian film industry to perform in China.
