MUMBAI  : A new week as began and here we bring you all the new and fresh happenings from the world of Hollywod

Legendary bolero singer Lucho Gatica dies

Chile-born legendary bolero singer Lucho Gatica, who made Mexico his home for half a century, has died, his family said. He was 90.

"Bon voyage! I love you," his son, the Mexican actor Luis Gatica, posted on social media, together with a picture of a black ribbon.

There has, however, been no cause given to his death on Tuesday.

Born in Rancagua, Chile, on August 11, 1928, Luis Enrique Gatica's career spanned over 70 years. The Chilean actor moved to Mexico in 1957.

From his adopted country he won international fame for his boleros and ballads and recorded 13 studio albums, the last one in 2013 entitled "Historia de un Amor" (Love Story).

"I'm not afraid of death, I'm very happy," the artist told EFE in an interview on the occasion of presenting his final disc.

Lili Reinhart's career made her self-conscious

"Riverdale" star Lili Reinhart says being an actress made her "hyper-aware" of her body. She has slammed the entertainment industry for "praising people" on the size of their waists.

Reinhart spoke about it at the Glamour Women of the Year summit, reported by media publications.

"For the past year, I've been quietly trying to navigate my fluctuating weight and I've faced criticism in the past for talking about my body image. People told me that I did not have the right to talk about being self-conscious about my body because I was skinny.

"And I understand how it seems inappropriate for someone who is the average size to talk about problems with weight gain. But, my point is, I did not think anything was wrong with my body until I was in an industry that rewards and praises people for having a smaller waist than I will ever have."

She said she has become "hyper-aware" of her changing body and could see the difference in her shape in photographs.

"And wondered if anyone else was noticing. I felt this strange, constant struggle of having to live up to the expectation of the appearance that I had already established to the world," she added.

 John Mayer quits drinking

Singer John Mayer stopped drinking after rapper Drake's 30th birthday party because he realized he was wasting his potential.

Mayer told Complex magazine: "I have the most amazing last-night-of-my-life-drinking story. It was Drake's 30th birthday party, and I made quite a fool of myself. It took me weeks to stop doing this every morning I woke up.

"And then I had a conversation with myself. I remember where I was. I was in my sixth day of the hangover. That's how big the hangover was."

He added: "I looked out the window and I went, 'Okay, John, what percentage of your potential would you like to have? Because if you say you would like 60, and you would like to spend the other 40 having fun, that's fine. But what percentage of what is available to you would you like to make happen? There's no wrong answer. What is it?' I went, '100'."

Jada Pinkett Smith was racially harassed by police

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith says she was racially harassed by a police officer when she was younger.

The 47-year-old actress said that while she was staying in Virginia Beach several years ago, she was the victim of a racial attack when "two white officers" told her to get her "n**** b***h a**" out of the street she was on, reported by media publications.

Talking her Facebook watch show "Red Table Talk", she said: "I remember going to Virginia Beach. Remember when they had the riots? I was there by myself - terrified - trying to get back to my hotel.

"I will never forget, there were these two white officers. I was like, 'I'm just trying to get down the street so I can get to my hotel' and they said, 'You better get your n**** b***h a** off this street right now.'"

The "Girls Trip" star, who is married to actor Will Smith, spoke to her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones on the show, who also opened up about her own experiences with racism growing up.

Jimmy Kimmel will be on hand to honor Snoop Dogg. He will be joined by Leron Gubler, president, and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the stars.

California bans filming in wildfire zones

Amidst the raging California wildfire, The California Film Commission has banned filming in state parks and beaches in the wildfire zones until further notice.

The commission made the announcement on Tuesday after the fire burned about 150 square miles of land in Ventura and Los Angeles counties in six days, reported by media publications.

"Due to the devastating fires in the Malibu area, Highway 1 along Pacific Coast Highway is closed to north and southbound traffic from Sunset Blvd. (Los Angeles County) to Las Posas Road (Ventura County).

"Applications for filming along this portion of PCH, as well as filming at the following State Parks and Beaches will not be accepted until further notice: Malibu Creek State Park, Malibu Pier, Tapia State Park, Point Mugu State Park, Sycamore Cove State Beach, Leo Carrillo State Park, Robert Meyer Memorial State Beach (El Matador, El Pescador and La Piedra), Point Dume Bluffs State Park, Point Dume State Beach, Paradise Cove," the commission said.

The commission also said that the Will Rogers State Historic Park is being used as a staging area for firefighters and is currently off-limits to filming.

 Pharrell Williams angers Palestinians

Singer Pharrell Williams has been bombarded with furious social media messages after performing at a benefit gig for Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) personnel.

Williams joined stars including Ashton Kutcher, Gerard Butler, Andy Garcia and Ziggy Marley at the Friends of the Israeli Defence Forces Western Region Gala at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California earlier this month.

The attendees raised $60 million for IDF soldiers, the families of fallen Israeli service people and wounded veterans, reported by media publications.

At the event, Williams performed his hit number "Happy" and gave a speech calling for an end to fighting and remembered the victims of last month's attack on a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but his presence has angered activists who object to the IDF's actions in the long-running Israel-Palestine conflict.

"Dear Pharrell, you contributed to raising $60 million to a nasty army that has killed hundreds of thousands of my people," one Palestinian campaigner wrote on Twitter.

Others accused him of hypocrisy, as he has tried to ban US President Donald Trump from playing 'Happy' at rallies, and the responses to a tweet he posted on Monday, November 12, contained a barrage of abusive messages.

Palestinian-American hip-hop producer Fredwreck also slammed the 45-year-old singer, tweeting: "To my friend Pharrell you performed for the IDF who murdered 252 Palestinians (49 children) this year protesting for their rights against being occupied. And you sing "Happy" to them?! What a shame."

Ahmed Abu Artema, a writer and activist who has led protests in Gaza in the Israeli-occupied territories, told the Middle East Eye website that gala attendees had "blood on their hands" for helping raise money for the IDF.

Stars including Lorde and Lana Del Rey have previously pulled out of gigs in Israel following pressure from activists.

Tensions in the region are high as this week (ending November 18) Hamas militants have bombarded the Jewish state with rockets, causing Israeli officials to retaliate with targeted airstrikes.
