MUMBAI: Among the most talented and adaptable actresses in Bollywood is Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri, who is regarded as the Dhak Dhak girl of B-Town, has left a lasting impression on her admirers.
Her remarkable acting prowess, extraordinary dancing abilities, heavenly beauty, and endearing demeanor have made her immensely beloved. In the 1984 movie Abodh, Madhuri made her screen debut. Her subsequent film credits include Dil, Beta, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and Dil To Pagal Hai.

In her career spanning four decades, Madhuri Dixit worked with many prominent actors in the 80s and 90s. Among them were Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff, with whom she delivered powerful performances in the iconic film, Vardi.
While the trio's pairing solidified their stardom, the 1989 film, Vardi, led to an unexpected embarrassment for Madhuri. Although Vardi was a hit, there were some scenes of Madhuri in the film in which objections were raised.
Despite having a prosperous career, Madhuri Dixit felt unsatisfied with her Vardi character. Madhuri was extremely ashamed as soon as the movie was released in theaters. First of all, the actress had a small screen role in which she played a cancer patient.
She also did several bold scenes with Jackie that showed their intimacy, which caused more discomfort. In addition, the movie underwent several edits, which embarrassed Madhuri with how her character was portrayed in the end.
Jackie Shroff earned many titles, such as Sexy Shroff, in his career spanning over 40 years. Though he did many intimate scenes with the leading actresses of his time, he was uncomfortable doing so. In an old interview, Jackie revealed how he was embarrassed to kiss Madhuri Dixit in the film, Vardi.
Talking about the same, he said, “I’ve kissed Madhuri Dixit in Vardi and Juhi Chawla in Aaina, but I felt embarrassed about it. Brandy’s shots helped me kiss other women on screen. I was called Sexy Shroff and considered macho, but I shied away from doing kissing scenes.”
Following Vardi, Madhuri Dixit starred with Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor in the key roles in the movie Ram Lakhan. The movie was a big smash with the general public and a box office hit.
However, Tezaab was the movie that made Madhuri Dixit a star overnight and cemented her status as a flawless actor. Despite her enormous reputation and string of hit movies, Madhuri has always regretted choosing to play a small part in Vardi and take on daring situations.
