Manoj Kumar, born Harikrishna Giri Goswami, is known for acting and directing films with patriotic themes.
And in his resolve in doing so, the veteran has given us films like Shaheed, Upkar, Purab aur Paschim, Roti Kapda aur Makan and Shirdi Ke Saibaba that made him lovingly known to be as Bharat Kumar.
Though he has been contemplating making a film again nothing seems to be materializing for reasons best known to him.
So what?
The actor, who also acted in thrillers like Gumnam, Poonam Ki Raat and Anita with equal aplomb, has turned a voiceover artiste.
Yes, he will lend his voice to a Lal Bahadur Shastri biopic titled Lal Bahadur Shastri: Gudari Ke Lal that is based on the life of the late Prime Minister.
According to the film's director Milan Ajmera, his writer got an idea of getting the veteran to narrate the sequence of events and “when we contacted him, he immediately agreed.”
“We are making arrangements to record his part of the voiceover in his house,” he added.
Here it must be interesting to note that Shashtriji attended the premiere of Manoj Kumar's 1965 film Shaheed that released during the Indo-Pak war.
The biopic stars Om Puri, Rati Agnihorti and Prem Chopra among others.
