Lady Gaga moved to tears after standing ovation for 'A Star Is Born'

Singer-actress Lady Gaga was moved to tears at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) after she was praised for her performance in A Star Is Born.

Gaga, 32, was with the film's director and co-star Bradley Cooper as well as other cast members at a Question and Answer panel at TIFF on Sunday.

In the film, the singer plays Ally, a struggling artist who has given up on her dream of becoming a singer until seasoned musician Jackson Maine (Cooper) convinces her to try again.

Gaga praised her cast members and Cooper for putting "every last drop of blood from their heart and their veins on set every single day", according to some media reports.

"I watched (Cooper) work tirelessly on this film, giving it everything, and you never stopped. Nobody here did," she said.

She broke down in tears when Lukas Nelson -- son of Willie Nelson and co-writer of songs on the film -- told her, "You just destroyed every single scene you were in".

The words caused the audience to break into applause which instantly drew a standing ovation.

Gaga was seen breaking into tears as she covered her face with her hands. She lifted her face and mouthed "Thank you" as the audience began to cheer louder.

She has received critical acclaim for her performance in the film with critics calling her "dynamite". A Star Is Born will be in theatres in the US on 5 October.

Lil Xan pays tribute to Mac Miller

Rapper Lil Xan has revealed a new face tattoo dedicated to the late rapper-producer Mac Miller.

Days after the "My favourite part" rapper died from an apparent overdose on 7 September, Lil Xan honoured his friend in the most permanent of ways by getting a tattoo on his face, reports suggest so.

The new ink, which the 22-year-old rapper debuted on his Instagram on Sunday, lines the top edge of his right eyebrow and reads "Memento Mori". The Latin phrase translates to "Remember that you will die".

"Momento Mori," Lil Xan wrote as a caption to the close-up shot. "Miss you Mac, you all can start hating me now."

The tattoo joins several others that already decorate Lil Xan's face, including a line of dots down his nose, the word "Lover" on his right cheek, and a heart on his left cheek.

Kit Harington wants a gay actor to play a superhero

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington wants a gay actor to play a superhero to dispel stereotypes about "masculinity and homosexuality".

Harington addressed queer representation in Hollywood during his visit at the Toronto Film Festival, reports suggest so.

"There's a big problem with masculinity and homosexuality that they can't somehow go hand in hand," Harington said.

"That we can't have someone in a Marvel movie who's gay in real life and plays some superhero. I mean, when is that going to happen?"

Harington was joined by his The Death and Life of John F. Donovan co-stars Emily Hampshire and Thandie Newton and director Xavier Dolan. Newton turned to the sports world as an example of the positive changes that are taking place, especially as more and more athletes continue to come out.

"It is changing, but we have to get behind those changes and keep pushing it," Newton said.

Dolan also spoke about queer representation, specifically how social media has helped actors and actresses come out. That's something that wasn't mainstream when he first began writing The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, he pointed out. However, he added, that doesn't mean Hollywood has changed in how it accepts them.

Although some are able to fully embrace their identity, Dolan said they might not be able to pursue the same opportunities they would have if they hadn't come out.

"There's still work that needs to be done," he said.

David Henrie arrested for possession of loaded gun

Actor David Henrie, who starred alongside Selena Gomez on Wizards of Waverly Place, was arrested for bringing a loaded handgun to Los Angeles International Airport, police said.

According to some media reports, Henrie was arrested on Monday.

It was confirmed with an LAX public information officer that Henrie was arrested at about 9:05 a.m. on Monday at Terminal 2 at LAX after TSA officers went through his baggage and found the firearm. He was booked into LAPD Pacific Division Jail and has since been released with a court date.

Following the incident, Henrie apologised in a statement on Twitter, saying that he "unintentionally" brought his gun, which he legally owns and is registered to his name.

"I am so sorry for any trouble it caused but I am appreciative of TSA's efforts in implementing the safety laws that are in place to protect our beautiful country," he wrote.

He added, "More than anything I am humiliated and embarrassed that this even happened. But I am thankful to the TSA, LAPD and all involved today for their kindness and their professionalism during this process."

Henrie starred as Gomez's brother on the Disney Channel show, which ended in 2012. He has also appeared on numerous television shows like House, How I Met Your Mother, and Arrested Development. He is set to direct a movie called This Is the Year that he also co-wrote, and filming is expected to begin this week.

Minaj breaks silence after fight with Cardi B

Rapper Nicki Minaj has broken her silence after she was involved in a brawl with rapper Cardi B at a party here.

Minaj denied Cardi's claims that she insulted the new mother's parenting skills. Minaj said she was "mortified" after footage emerged of a scuffle at the event last week, reports suggest so.

Cardi, who gave birth to a daughter in July, later posted a lengthy message on Instagram accusing Minaj of making disparaging remarks about her skills as a mother.

Minaj has now spoken out to dismiss the allegations.

On her Queen Radio show on Monday, Minaj, whose given name is Onika Tanya Maraj, said, "The other night, I was a part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through."

She said that the crowd who witnessed the alleged disturbance was "upper echelon", adding, "The way they passed by looking at this disgusting commotion, I will never forget. I was mortified."

Minaj then denied having insulted Cardi as a mother and said, "I would never talk about anyone's child or parenting. I don't care about anyone's parenting. I don't give a s**t and it's so crazy to me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy.

"I just want to let the world know that Onika Tanya Maraj would never, has never and will never speak ill of anyone's child."

She added, "I am not a clown. That's clown s**t."

Sharing a video from their marital home later that night, Teigen filmed her husband as he climbed onto his piano seat and reverently placed his Creative Arts Emmy on a top shelf, between two of his ten Grammy Awards.

Climbing down, Legend gazes up at the trophy-laden shelves, which appear to serve as an impressive centre-piece in a large music room.

A second video captures the married couple offering one another kisses shortly after Legend accepted his award on Sunday evening.

Reality TV personality-model Kendall Jenner flies to Paris amid 'freak out' during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) after not being booked to walk in any shows

Her last public appearance saw her rub shoulders with Kate Moss in the front row of the Longchamp showcase.

Admitted suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, revealed she was forced to distance herself from the mayhem on Friday night after having a 'freak out'.

Cardi B threw shoe at LHH NY cast member a year before Minaj attack

Rapper Nicki Minaj was not the first person to fall victim to a wicked shoe hurling attack from Cardi B as the "Bodak Yellow" rapper did the same act in the past on one of the crew members of "Love & Hip Hop: New York" (LHH NY).

Cardi was on the LHH NY reunion show last year when she got into it with Asia. Cardi didn't like the explanation Asia gave when she was asked why she didn't like Cardi -- and without hesitation -- Cardi kicked off her shoe and chucked it straight at Asia, reports suggest so.

As expected, a huge fight broke out.
