MUMBAI: Days after Big Boss 13 fame Koena Mitra lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police that some imposter has opened accounts on Instagram and YouTube under her name and was sharing obscene pictures and videos, the Mumbai Police on Sunday suspended these two accounts.
Sources said that though the actress' complaint was registered at Oshiwara police, the Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the crime branch which has started a bigger probe into the fake influencer racket on social media, took over Koena’s complaint.

The CIU last week busted influencer fraud where several celebrities used services of fraudsters to buy followers on their social media accounts for monetary consideration. The racket was unearthed after singer Bhoomi Trivedi lodged a complaint about a fake Instagram profile that was being passed off as her official account. Police have started recording statements of several people connected with the case.
After going through Koena’s complaint, it transpired that her complaint too was on the similar lines of cheating where an imposter has opened two accounts on social media in the name of Koena and was posting obscene material. We wrote to Google and with their assistance these two fake accounts of Koena have been suspended," said police inspector Sachin Waze.
