When did you think that the time has really changed for you in terms of acting?

I am so blessed to be entering Bollywood now, because earlier, women didn’t have options. They only had to fit in certain kinds of boxes and play a certain type of role. Today, I am not worried that I have to play a mother, sister, or something else. Today, I feel that I am free, and filmmakers have faith in me.

One thing you want to change in the film industry?

I have so many things to say because I have a journey which I started from television to films. Sometime back, my friends from television said they hear a lot about you if you are a TV actor. I think an actor is an actor. The only thing that remains constant is the camera because it is the same actor. So, I think people who are in the filmmaking business should stop judging TV actors. Second is that the kind of briefing I used to get is that we need people for younger roles. You need to look young and fresh.  Every time I like a script and I really want to do it, the character was that of a mother. This 'but' is the main reason why actors are not stepping out of their comfort zone and experimenting with them. So I really wish that we stop bracketing the actors in boxes.

Team TellyChakkar wishes all the women a very Happy Women's Day.
