MUMBAI: Following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty received a lot of backlash. The actress had to work very hard to restart her career once it had fallen. Recently, Rhea Chakraborty spoke on how SSR's death affected her life and how much she still misses him.

Speaking if she knew the truth of his alleged suicide, Rhea said, “The truth is that mental health is not understood in this country at all. We are taking strides and the youth is now talking about it and India is moving forward in understanding mental health. But when someone who is famous has a mental health condition, people don’t understand it. They are like he has fame, he has success, why is he depressed?”
Speaking of people judging famous people being depressed, Rhea added, “what am I working towards? That’s what doesn’t sit well with people.” She added that while the society is changing slowly but said that it is “very difficult for people to consume or digest the fact that someone who is rich and famous and successful could be mentally affected, could be depressed.”
When asked of she knew what pushed Rajput to suicide, she said, “I could never know the truth of what took him to do what he did because I don’t live in his mind, contrary to popular belief. But I do know the truth about him being mentally ill, I do know the truth about what he was going through.”
