Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput unveiled the trailer of his new film, Byomkesh Bakshy on his birthday yesterday evening at YRF studios which was made to resemble the pre-independent Calcutta dating back to 1943. The birthday boy too walked in his new detective avatar replete with dhoti and coat. Sushant who essays the lead role of Byomkesh, a hot-shot crime solving detective surprisingly said that he never researched or made an attempt see other detective films as per the diktat of his director, Dibakar Banerjee.

Said Sushant, "In your head, you need to have the authority to play that character. Dibakar asked me to have a fresh raw mind while playing the character."

While precious little has been revealed about the movie till now, one aspect that has made news for a few months now is the hot and unusually long kissing sequence between Sushant and lead actress, Swastika Mukherjee.

When we asked Sushant about the duration and experience of kissing the Bengali bombshell, the handsome actor replied, "I didn't sit with a watch while doing the scene. So I can't tell you if it was the longest kissing scene but something that I can tell you is that I didn't know about the kissing scene which I was supposed to shoot. It was a surprise for me.  So I Sushant Singh Rajput as Byomkesh Bakshy was not anticipating the kiss at all. So all the emotions that came out was very natural, organic and as planned by our director Dibakar.

Dibakar, on his part, mock threatened to delete the scene owing to the fuss generated around it. Said Dibakar, "I am thinking of editing out the kissing scene from the film because just to watch that particular scene people will miss the story and the dialogues involved."

We know that you are kidding, Dibakar.
