MUMBAI: Avneet Kaur and Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently discussed the controversy surrounding a kissing scene in an episode of Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa's LOL podcast. Viewers' reactions to the sequence in Kangana Ranaut's movie were not quite positive. Nawazuddin is renowned for his determination in roles and flexibility and seized the chance to clarify the intentions behind the scenes.

He clarified that his part in the movie required him to kiss, so it wasn't a personal gesture. His statements clarified the difference between an actor's true identity and their fictitious characters as well as the frequently misinterpreted dynamics of on-screen performances.

In a fun podcast, Bharti asked Nawazuddin Siddiqui what he thought about acting out kissing sequences in films. She questioned whether he feels shy or reluctant when filmmakers write scripts with such sequences.

Renowned actor Nawazuddin said he is always willing to do a kissing scene if the storyline of the movie calls for it. Bharti goes on to inquire if he was anxious about these situations because of his background in rural India.

Nawazuddin clarified that he doesn’t feel nervous, emphasizing the difference between real life and reel life. He addressed the backlash over his kiss with Avneet Kaur in Tiku Weds Sheru, stating that it's the characters, not the actors, who kiss.

Bharti added a personal touch, humorously stating that she could never let her husband Harsh kiss anyone on screen, nor could she imagine doing it with any actor herself. The podcast episode offered a blend of humor and insights into the professional boundaries actors navigate in their careers.

Towards the end of the podcast, Bharti Singh humorously remarked that serious actors in the film industry often charge hefty amounts of money for their roles. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his intense portrayals, responded with a smile, denying the notion. He pointed out that the perception created by others has cast him as a serious actor.

Bharti, always quick with a witty follow-up, asked if Siddiqui was actually playful and humorous. With a twinkle in his eye, Siddiqui replied, “Are madam, hum kabhi baithenge tab batayenge aapko,” implying that if they ever sat down together, Bharti and Harsh would discover his fun-loving side.

The friendly conversation brought back memories of their first encounter with Siddiqui on Kapil Sharma's show. Bharti remembered that subsequently, Kapil had told her that Nawazuddin was actually very hilarious and sociable in real life, despite his serious on-screen appearance.

This finding gave the podcast a wonderful new dimension, highlighting Nawazuddin's less well-known fun side and strengthening the bond between the hosts and their guests.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is well-known for his roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), The Lunchbox (2013), Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016), and Manto (2018), among others. Eight of his films have remarkably been screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Throughout his career, Siddiqui has won multiple awards, including two Asia Pacific Screen Awards, a National Film Award, and a Filmfare Award.
