MUMBAI : Nawazuddin Siddiqui has made a consistent effort to maintain his private life. However, his marriage to Aaliya had ups and downs that frequently made the news. The couple had already filed for divorce after going through multiple separations. However, they reconciled in March. The actor from Kick recently made a lengthy visit on The Ranveer Show podcast, where he discussed his doubts about marriage and love.
In the podcast, Nawazuddin Siddiqui discussed his thoughts on acting, art, addiction, and other challenges in life. Ranveer Allahabadia, the host, questioned Nawazuddin about marriage during the discussion.
Nawaz answered unexpectedly. He went on to say that when two people love each other, marriage is not necessary. He continued by saying that after getting married, love begins to fade.
He was quoted as saying, "They shouldn't. What is the need to get married? If you are in love, it can prosper even without marriage. After marriage, people start taking each other for granted. If you are not married to each other, then you love each other more. But after marriage, that starts diminishing."
There is a common perception in society that one should get married in their 20s for happiness. But Nawaz dismissed this claim and added that society makes people think that way. The Raees actor said that people think love or marriage will give happiness. However, after a while, only work gives true happiness. He made these statements when his marriage with his wife has been full of ups and downs.
In 2009, Nawazuddin Siddiqui tied the knot with Aaliya. However, she said in 2020 that she was going to file for divorce. She had said that Nawaz was an irresponsible father and threatened her.
Nawazuddin stated in an open letter that her accusations were "manipulated" and "one-sided." The pair celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary in March after getting back together after a few times of separation. According to Aaliya, their reconciliation was made with their kids in mind.
She said, "There's no option of being apart in life now, because the kids are also growing up. Also, Nawaz is very close to Shora (daughter) and she was very disturbed after whatever happened. She couldn't tolerate it. So we decided that we are not going to fight and will live together, peacefully."
Nawazuddin talked candidly about how he used to get asked why he became an actor and how he was frequently criticised for his appearance in a recent interview with the well-known news portal. However, the Lunchbox actor revealed that he has become adapted to taking criticism about his appearance. According to Nawaz, people still find you attractive even after you are famous. He disclosed that since his success, a lot of people now find him attractive.
