The actress who was the first choice for the song has worked with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, Mithun Chakraborty, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty, and is none other than Shilpa Shirodkar. In the 1990s, Shilpa Shirodkar was very well known for her acting and beauty. She is the sister of former Miss India and Hindi Film Industry actress Namrata Shirodkar, who is married to South superstar Mahesh Babu. Shilpa Shirodkar made her debut in the film 'Bhrashtachar’ along with Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha.
On one hand, Shilpa Shirodkar was getting good films, on the other hand, her looks were becoming a problem for her. Perhaps only a few people would know that not Malaika Arora but Shilpa Shirodkar was the first choice for the hit song 'Chaiyya Chaiyya' of Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala starrer film 'Dil Se', but the director of the film did not allow the actress to participate in the song due to her overweight and then Malaika grabbed the opportunity for herself.
In 2000, Shilpa Shirodkar quit acting after she got married to Aparesh Ranjit and soon after the couple was blessed with a baby girl.
