MUMBAI: Lockdown hero and bollywood actor Sonu Sood is facing major allegations by the Income Tax Department. According to a report by NDTV, the Income Tax Department, has said the actor and his pals have evaded Rs 20 crore of taxes.
Earlier, The actor's house and various premises were surveyed by the Income Tax Officials. As per NDTV, the tax department has found incriminating evidence related to tax evasion from the actors premises. The report stated, “The main modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities.
The statement also informed, “There have been instances where professional receipts have been camouflaged as loans in the books of accounts for the purpose of evasion of tax. It has also been revealed that these bogus loans have been used for making investments and acquiring properties. The total amount of tax evaded unearthed so far, amounts to more than ₹ 20 crore,"
Sonu's Mumbai offices and a Lucknow-based real estate brokerage were searched by the I-T department. A land deal between Sonu's firm and the real estate agency was said to be under investigation.

According to a tweet by ANI, unaccounted income has been found out in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities.
